This course will introduce the learner to the important aspects of financial accounting and his/her related responsibilities at the financial institution. The course will familiarize the learner with crucial business and financial terms and their definitions and how to apply them to work at the financial institution. Upon completing this course, the learner will be able to:

  • Recognize and use the 5 C’s of Credit when analyzing customers.
  • Properly maintain various financial statements, including income statements and balance sheets.
  • Understand the importance and relevance of IFRS and GAAP to the financial institution.

This course will introduce the learner to Non-Deposit Investment Products (NDIPs) and their purposes. The course will discuss general guidelines that must be followed for compliance to regulatory agencies. After completing tis program, the learner will understand:

  • How to and why inform customers of the nature and risks associated with NDIPs.
  • Nature of disclosures.
  • Making arrangements with third parties.

This course will introduce the learner to the various duties and objectives of bank notaries. The learner will become acquainted with the process and procedures surrounding identity verification, oaths, and more. After completing this program, the learner will be able to:

  • Verify identities, notarize oaths and affirmations.
  • Certify copies and depositions, and confirm affidavits and verifications.
  • Avoid conflicts of interest by knowing when to say no.

This course will introduce the learner to the various products and practices associated with consumer lending. Some of these products include secured and unsecured loans, mortgages, non-real estate secured credit products, and small business loans. After completing this program, the learner will understand:

  • How to differentiate between the different types of collateral.
  • The features available to consumer credit products.
  • Which unsecured credit products are available to borrowers.

This course will introduce the learner to cash handling procedures. The course will familiarize the learner with the proper procedures for receiving and paying cash and for managing the cash drawer. After completing this program the learner will understand:

  • Best practices for ensuring accuracy when receiving cash from or paying cash to customers.
  • Appropriate methods for setting up the cash drawer at the beginning of each shift.
  • Safety guidelines for protecting the cash drawer.

This course will introduce the learner to consumer lending fraud, including the various types of lending and mortgage fraud, how to prevent lending fraud and the red flags to be aware of. After completing this program the learner will understand:

  • How to differentiate between the various types of lending fraud.
  • The potential signs of fraud and how to prevent lending fraud.
  • How to review loan documents for fraud.

This course will introduce the learner to the skills and strategies that will ensure that clear and proper communication is used at all times at the organization.  The course will stress the importance of communication and will familiarize the learner with various aspects, including interpersonal skills, face-to-face communication, and communicating with teams. After completing this course, the learner will understand:

  • How perception can affect communication.
  • How communication can be used to influence and inspire other people.
  • How to overcome potential barriers to clear communication.

This course will introduce the learner to the principles of structured swaps and describe other OTC instruments, such as interest rate swaps and fixed-for-floating interest rate swaps. Additionally, the course will explore cross-currency swaps, exchange rates, and combining swaps. After completing the program, the learner will have a solid understanding of:

  • Options for purchasing and selling currency.
  • Commodity structures.
  • Index trackers.
