This course will provide the learner with an introduction to the various investment banking and regulatory agencies that s/he will encounter and need to understand while working at the organization. After completing this course, the learner will understand the purpose and functions of the following agencies, among others:

  • The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
  • The U.S. Federal Reserve.
  • The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency.

This course will provide an explanatory overview of investment products offered by most financial institutions to cover a range of customer needs and desires. The learner will be able to understand types of funds and strategies available to customers concerning everything from real estate to retirement planning. After completing this program, the learner will be able to:

  • Analyze customer cues and verbalized requests for different categories of investment products.
  • Understand the use and purpose of investment strategies and products, and tailor products to suit customer needs.

This course will introduce the learner to an overview of the types of risk in a financial model that the learner might encounter. Additionally, the course will teach the learner about how sensitivity analysis (SA) is used so that the learner understands the interactions between SA and model testing and single and multi-way SA. Upon successful completion of the course, the learner will have a strong understanding of:

  • The Monte Carlo simulation.
  • Scenario analysis.
  • Linear Programming.

This course will introduce the learner to model building, including the essential components of a financial model and the components of the model layout. The course will also provide the learner with suggestions on how to create a good spreadsheet that is functional and simple to read using the best tools available. After completing this program the learner will understand:

  • Common mistakes and errors that can occur in financial models.
  • Steps financial managers can take to ensure mistakes do not happen.
  • How models can be tied to the institution’s mission and values and used as a guide to better its future.

Seat Time: 1.5hrs - Desc:

This course will introduce the learner to fixed rate mortgages (FRMs) and teach the learner about Adjustable Rate Mortgages (ARMs). The course will also provide the learner with an overview of the nature and risks of jumbo loans. After completing this program, the learner will have a strong understanding of:

  • Conforming loans.
  • Federal Housing Administration (FHA) loans.
  • Veterans Affairs (VA) loans.

This course will introduce the learner to the important aspects of financial accounting and his/her related responsibilities at the financial institution. The course will familiarize the learner with crucial business and financial terms and their definitions and how to apply them to work at the financial institution. Upon completing this course, the learner will be able to:

  • Recognize and use the 5 C’s of Credit when analyzing customers.
  • Properly maintain various financial statements, including income statements and balance sheets.
  • Understand the importance and relevance of IFRS and GAAP to the financial institution.
