This course will introduce the learner to the role of the RMLO in ensuring that s/he remains compliant with all aspects of the Bank Secrecy Act in everything that s/he does at the institution. The course will familiarize the learner with the Act itself, in addition to how, when, and why to file CTRs and SARs, in addition to how to apply BSA requirements to other aspects of the institution’s operations. After completing this course, the learner will understand:

  • How to complete and file a CTR and a SAR.
  • How to maintain an effective Customer Identification Program (CIP).
  • How the USA PATRIOT Act affects BSA requirements.
Seat Time: 0.5hrs - Desc:

This course will introduce the learner to the Bank Protection Act and explain how the Act requires institutions to adopt appropriate security measures to protect the financial institution. The course will also familiarize the learner with preventative measures that should be taken to mitigate the risk of robbery. After completing this course, the learner will understand:

  • The details of the Bank Protection Act.
  • How to properly implement security measures at the financial institution.
  • How to properly react in a robbery situation to ensure the safety of everyone at the institution.

Seat Time: 2.75hrs - Desc:

This course will discuss the Bank Secrecy Act and the importance of recordkeeping and reporting in particular to the role of teller. The learner will be exposed to different means of reporting. After completing the program the learner will be able to:

  • Differentiate between Suspicious Activity Reports, Monetary Instrument Logs, and Currency Transaction Reports.
  • Utilize customer identification procedures.
  • Recognize potential red flags and suspicious activity.
Seat Time: 0.25hrs - Desc:

This course will explain the Bank Bribery Amendments Act of 1985. The learner will understand and be able to adhere to the code of conduct in everything that s/he does at the financial institution. After completing this program, the learner will be able to:

  • Implement specific rules and regulations in accordance with the Act.
  • Understand and identify examples of exceptions, items, or benefits that are deemed appropriate.
  • Recognize violations of the Bank Bribery Act.
Seat Time: 3hrs - Desc:

This course will introduce the learner to the role of the Trust and Investments department in ensuring that the institution remains compliant with all aspects of the Bank Secrecy Act. The course will familiarize the learner with the Act itself, in addition to how, when, and why to file CTRs and SARs.The course will also discuss how to apply BSA requirements to other aspects of the institution’s operations. After completing this course, the learner will understand:

  • How to complete and file a CTR and a SAR.
  • How to maintain an effective Customer Identification Program (CIP).
