This course will introduce the learner to the increasing problem of elder financial abuse and the measures that are being taken to detect and prevent it. The course will familiarize the learner with federal and state laws that address elder financial abuse, in addition to providing advice for protecting elderly customers and how to report suspicions of elder financial abuse. After completing this program, the learner will understand:

  • The financial institution’s responsibilities and role in preventing and detecting elder financial abuse.
  • How to empower elderly customers to better protect them from abuse.
  • The role of Adult Protective Services.

This course will help the learner to understand risk, and how to apply Enterprise Risk Management (ERM). The learner will be provided with an overview of ERM objectives and requirements, and will address risk assessment and response. After completing this program, the learner will be able to:

  • Utilize specific evaluation activities and processes and methodologies.
  • Communicate effectively while addressing, assessing, and responding to risk.
  • Understand the importance of objective settings, internal environments, and the application of ERM.

This course will introduce the learner to the code of conduct by which all employees must abide at the institution. The course will familiarize the learner with various aspects of the code, including policies on insider trading, outside activities, and conflicts of interest. After completing this course, the learner will understand:

  • What constitutes a violation of the code of conduct.
  • Why excellence is important to the institution and how the learner can contribute to the success of the organization.
  • What constitutes prohibited financial interests and how they can be avoided.
