This course will introduce the learner to the various bank products that s/he will encounter as a teller. Some of these bank products and services are checking and savings accounts, loans, IRAs, and negotiable instruments. After completing this program the learner will understand:

  • The differences between checking and savings accounts.
  • The different account add-ons.
  • The role of additional products and services, such as wire transfers, savings bonds, and safe deposit boxes.

Seat Time: 2.25hrs - Desc:

This course will outline the array of responsibilities afforded a Treasury Department by outlining the various markets in which those responsibilities take root. The learner will be able to compare derivatives, money, and Foreign Exchange markets while also exploring Treasury services and methods for cash management. After completing this program, the learner will be able to:

  • Differentiate between the various markets in which products are bought, sold, and traded.
  • Understand and implement procedures for cash management and forecasting as part of Treasury's responsibilities.
  • Adhere to responsibilities of a Treasury Department in regards to markets, customers, and the bank itself.

This course will introduce the learner to the important aspects of financial accounting and his/her related responsibilities at the financial institution. The course will familiarize the learner with crucial business and financial terms and their definitions and how to apply them to work at the financial institution. Upon completing this course, the learner will be able to:

  • Recognize and use the 5 C’s of Credit when analyzing customers.
  • Properly maintain various financial statements, including income statements and balance sheets.
  • Understand the importance and relevance of IFRS and GAAP to the financial institution.

This course will provide the learner with the necessary tools for understanding reconciliation, inventory valuation, and depreciation methods. The learner will also be able to use ratios and other numerical values and methods to account for changes in a company’s assets. Upon completing this program, the learner will be able to:

  • Use appropriate methods to evaluate and reconcile inventory and other assets.
  • Create numeral values by which to analyze a company’s financial condition.
  • Understand and apply inventory valuation and depreciation methods in real-life scenarios.

This course will introduce the learner to the basic aspects of financial planning. The course will familiarize the learner with areas of financial planning, including budgeting, insurance, and investments. After completing this program the learner will understand:

  • The key aspects of financial planning.
  • The significance of investment-based retirement.
  • The categories of expenses and how to make expense reports.

  • The role of the teller at the branch.
  • What it takes to be successful as a teller.

Seat Time: 1.5hrs - Desc:

This course will familiarize the learner with the role and responsibilities of a branch manager, including performance tips and ideal attributes for successful branch managers. This course will emphasize the necessity of learning a bank’s history, vision, and values in order to facilitate the growth of the branch manager and his/her employees. Upon completing this program, the learner will be able to:

  • Apply leadership and team-building skills and standards.
  • Demonstrate specific skills and abilities necessary to the role of branch manager.
  • Face difficult challenges and understand job expectations.
